Wow, I gotta say from one tin wacker to another, that took some nerve to cut into those big fenders like you did. You definately pulled it off though and the results look fantastic. I say it again..... awesome build. [cl

Two words, "Flawless Execution". Beautiful work.

I'm not trying to make your head ache, or criticize, far from it.

Just an idea I couldn't keep to myself. An attempt to show off the chin I like so much, and pull the sides in closer to the fenders.

Hmmmm - I'm sure Jay Leno would approve of emphasizing the chin with your proposed bumper shape but somehow it just doesn't work for me... kinda too angular, while I'm trying to smooth the appearance a little. I guess we all see things a little differently...

I'd move someplace where a front bumper isn't required.:D

That would be Alberta - BRRR !
With the more rounded look of these mid to late 30's cars, I think they look better with bumpers - something to contrast with the big painted fenders...
Definitely on early 30's and 20's rods bumpers are not my favorite...
I've had a few roadsters with no bumpers and never been hassled but I know lots of guys who have been - driving habits have everything to do with that!
I've been driving the Hennway for 6 years with the plate hidden behind the grille, also no hassles - kinda thinking I don't want to push my luck too far..:D

Just as always your work on this car is amazing. How about a couple of the singular push bar style bumpers one on each side. Something to match your flying eyeball claw maybe. Just a wondering thought.

As always looking great... nice work on the fenders.. I like the bumper now that you shortened it

I've been lurking and following this thread for a month or so since DJ3100 told me about it.

Always looking forward each day to another fix on my new addiction (your Cad build).

Just absolutely exceptional on every level. Love your work. Wouldn't change a thing.

Carry on.

Time to get back to the interior.... first thing (been avoiding it) is chopping the window garnish mouldings. I only did the front window one before - it was easy, 2 cuts - back window was easy too, 3 cuts. however the others are more work, needing to be cut into several pieces since the doors were lengthened and rear quarter window and rear door ones need to be combined, also have to eliminate the notches for the front and rear vent wings. [;) Lotsa fun, they are really thin, like 22ga. or less.

Working on those smaller jobs that need doing...
Welded up the holes in the firewall, mounted the wiper drives.
Mounted the SPW wiper motor under the dash.
Mounted the Vintage Air heat/defrost unit to the firewall under the dash.
Welded up the holes in the center of the dash, drilled new ones for controls.
Made a new steel gauge panel for the Classic American Nickel gauge set.
Got the drivers side power window mechanism mounted.

Wow, what an amazing build[cl You have alot of great skills, just found this build and have been reading for 2 nights. [P[P[P

You were born to build totally unique hot rods.

Unique, hmmmm, that's not what my wife calls them.. [ddd. Actually she keeps my demented urges to build really 'out there' things in check.... No sooner do I start on a car than I'm thinking about the next one. [S

I had some leftover 16ga. sheet from making the running boards and started building a console. It will house the air gauges and switches, P window switches, and the obligatory beverage holders plus a storage compartment. Rather than just butting the edges together I hammered all the edges over so they are rounded - think I'll just paint the whole thing except it will get a padded armrest/lid.

Got the console finished up today. Using a 4 switch GM power window switch to work the air valves and a couple more at the rear of the console for the windows. Made a drop-in liner for storage under the armrest. Also got the original inside door handles mounted and made arm rests, still need to cut some reliefs in them to get a grip to help closing the door.

The console looks killer but the gauges almost look like Bender from Futurama LOL Looks like a robot face :)
