If using the stock banjo there are a few ways to go about it.

You can reverse the spring eye and lower it around an inch.

You can use longer shackles and gain and lower anywhere from an inch to......
If you use longer shackles you may need to fab a panhard bar to keep the rear end stable.

You can go with a flat rear cross member. That will gain you quite a bit of lowering.
Or any combination of the above.

I think flat would drop that back about 4 or 5 inchs..

just have to make sure you have the axle to frame clearance if done that way.....jmho..:D
 
You can go flat or some thing with a lesser drop.
Axle/frame clearence should not be an issue. The whole C-notching of the frames was something that started with the late forties-early fifties frames as the frames became flatter along their length.
How much do you want to lower it?
