Today I finally received the transplant for my seed. It came from old stock warehouse rare find. The fender half was stamped in 52. I use the material from the old Fender and cut out all the corners making a template to show me where I need to trim for the new Fender. Took a lot of thought but I nailed it all my gaps are great everything lines up ********s are perfect enjoy this post
I am using a 46 cad bumper but it is to narrow so I butchered another 49 Cad bumper. I cut 1" sections and grafted them in to widen it by 2 inches. Still got to finish the other side.
I am taking more sample pieces from my donor bumper I have welded in the studs for the bumper brackets ground the heads down to clear the new plate. No the new pieces will they didn't know I have to file.
finally I got the bumper mounted. It was kind of tricky finding the right angles with multiple tries I figured out that I would just make a tool which is a t stand and I made a bracket to cradle the bumper and I can move it up or down but I also put it on my two post lift which gave me the right up and down movements I needed in order to get it where I needed it. One of the hardest parts was drilling through the bumper brackets that still is very very hard. Took about 4 hours to finally open it up. No comes the hard part now I have to build the all of the front in to match the bumper but I've been through this same thing I did on the back.
