I done a 5.3 swap in a 48 Chevy AD. I ran the cold air tube almost identical to yours and the check engine light would come on randomly saying the intake air is too hot so, I moved it to the front up against the core support for cooler air.

Finally received my air cleaner piping, so it's all done up. Just need to finish my rad overflow bottle bracket and I think it's time for a test fire.

You are about out of room up front brother!

Thanks for the "hot air" tip OI, I'll keep an eye out for that code.

I'm waiting on parts for the sedan now so I'm picking off little jobs on my truck. Overflow bottle mounted, stuck the doors and running boards back on. Wow those new door rubbers make them tight to close.

What mufflers did you use?

Thanks everyone, I sure slept more soundly last night! OI, I used Flowmasters, (I think they are series 50 but I'm not sure!) with dumps in front of the axle for now. I may have to have some tailpipes fab'd up someday, will have to see how bad any drone might be inside the cab. I will see if I can find the info on what series those mufflers are.

I've been knocking a bunch of little jobs off, along with progress on the sedan delivery. Organizing the wiring, doublechecking and tightening suspension bolts, etc. My wheels should be arriving soon, so I'll be setting it down...so it's time to finish all the under work. At least the front bumper and splash pan were picture worthy.

I don't have a rear bumper, but do have an extra front, so I reworked it a bit (flattened it). I bolted it to a piece of angle, then heated a few spots to relax it. I'm still messing with brackets to get it in the right spot, one that looks good but doesn't interfere with the plate location. Here it is mocked up, but not finalized yet
