Well I guess I was warned....Doctors said I'd be feeling crappy for a couple of days, and man were they ever correct! I don't even remember coming home on Wednesday, and yesterday was another right-off. Better today but still only lasted about 4 hours and I had to come in for an afternoon nap. Hopefully my mind was clear enough to make changes I did. I mocked up the truck again, to satisfy my obsession with making sure wheel positions were to my liking....and as it turns out, I made some moves. Moved the front wheel centerline forward .75" from stock, and shortened the wheel base to 115.5" overall. I do have a small bit of adjustment in the rear, but the front is where it's at. I guess it's a good thing that I checked. I used our summer tires to confirm :). Removed the cab and turned it face down so that I can make a couple of small patches in the front legs, change the cab to running board seals, and paint the floor. I can't believe it's taken me this long to get this smart....or maybe just too old to work overhead anymore:rolleyes:

Don't know what you had done but take it easy for a bit brother.
That's the way that I worked on my cab flooring. Just be aware that they can and will roll over onto their roof.
Just ask me how I know. [ddd

Thanks for the hot tip Torchie! I'll be aware of that, better yet I'll put some blocking in place to keep it stable.
P.S. I had to have a lung biopsy, the doctors are trying to figure out the reason for my AV block. The procedure was simple enough, but the recovery sure seemed to knock my onto my butt for a couple of days. Glad that's overwith!

Hoping all goes well with you Bill.
I'm working at getting back into some sort of shop groove but not having a lot of success.
The older I get and the more that happens to me, the harder it is for me to bounce back. Our weather is supposed to be getting warmer so I hope that helps me as well.
A claim of 50 degrees for next Thursday is being made.:D
Block that cab up for sure. I was lucky that when mine rolled it didn't do any damage to the roof.
Keep on keeping on.....

Thanks boys....trying to pace myself (no pun intended :))!

I had to discipline myself and stay focused on the cab, but it was hard having all those new suspension parts just sitting there waiting to be installed! I did stick the two boxing plates in the front frame rails, but then decided I had better listen to what you guys had said about the cab rolling onto it's roof. I blocked it decently and got busy on the lower cab repairs - both front legs and one rear cab corner. The patches weren't big enough to warrant buying repair patches, so I fabbed these up and installed them today. The sooner I can get the cab back onto it's floor the happier I'll be.

Fiddled around with the boxing plates and WelderSeries crossmember over the last couple of days. Fitted and welded the boxing plates in, and did all the layout and trimming of the crossmember plates before tacking it together. I test fitted it in the frame, and aside from 4 little notches it fit and aligned perfectly. I'll finish welding the crossmember tomorrow, I was getting a fair bit of heat into it and figured I'd let it cool off before I warp it!

Thanks guys.
B'man - even a knuckle dragger gets lucky once in a while:)
OI - I have to admit, so far I'm very happy with the WelderSeries stuff.

I finished off the welding this morning. I'm going with tubular A arms so I installed the lower extensions while I was at it.....test fitted and it still fits!
