The California Kid
Back in '65, Chevy sold a Biscayne with a "Drag Pack" option. It was a 425 hp 396 with a 4 speed. I found one years ago, all original but the price was $75K. It was then, I decided to build my own. I found my car in San Diego. It was a 283 and 3 speed. The owner had repainted the car but having kids, the interior was trashed. I bought the car and brought her home.
First I installed a 500 hp 454 with a 4 speed. But with 3:08's I decided to switch to a Richmond 6 speed and 3:42"s with a posi. Then came a full Hotckis suspension upgrade. I added disc brakes to the front. Then I added a new interior which was custom made to mimic a '66 interior which was a two tone. The old paint was color sanded and buffed and the bumpers re-chromed.
