I started a YouTube channel to show some of the progress of the build on my '65 Volvo. Lately I've been focusing on electrical and cooling system upgrades as well as a new exhaust since the old one was all rusted out and incredibly restrictive.

I'm aware that I don't have anything close to a fraction of the skills of most of the guys and gals that post on here. My whole intention with joining this forum was to mostly watch and learn, but as most of you know, just watching isn't gonna get you very far - you gotta actually do stuff and screw it up, learn where and how you screwed up and figure out how to do it properly.

So while I'm sure some of you might have some choice words over some of my decisions or methods, please try to be mindful that, outside of doing light maintenance (spark plugs, oil changes, air/fuel filter changes) on my previous car (a '99 Saab), this is the first car I'm actually modifying and doing more advanced stuff to. My budget and tools are really limited and sometimes I have to resort to unconventional methods to get things the way I want.

In any case, enough talking - here are the videos of the progress so far... unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to post youtube videos on here so here are the links:

I've always kinda liked those particular Volvos. Good luck with the project and, as you figured out, the best way to get going on this stuff is to do some research and then dive in and figure it out as you go.

Fine little cars. Had a '68 wagon. I appreciated the standard size bolts and the
Ford bolt pattern.

Looks kinda like a miniature '49 Ford. Good looking little cars. Needs a SB V8. Someday... Have fun with it.

Enjoyed some of the videos. ABBA music would seem appropriate. Or maybe First Aid Kit (today's ABBA!)

I had a Volvo 544 when I worked in Denmark for a year (when I was a young man). The Danes called it "The Fastest Tractor in the World". I think yours is a definite upgrade!

Have fun with it!

Hey, can you post a picture every once in awhile? My 'puter doesn't like video much anymore. I feel left out. :(

Hey Sam, get a better computer. They're $19.99 at Walmart.

I'm a Volvo fan. Keep up the fine work crow.

I'll get some pics up when I can. In the beginning I was trying to document the whole process with pictures and I just found it very difficult to focus and get things done when I had to stop and take a picture. Much easier to just set my phone on a tripod, have it record everything and edit it later.
