ok update time:
hammer and dolly the top of the floor that is now tack welded to the firewall
cut and hammered in the new sills made from old steel posts laying around the farm
trial clamped the door skins in place
next weekend is straighten the skins and tack weld them to the front posts

the intention is to put as few tacks in place until the whole cab is built that way i can jack and come along everything square before welding it all solid

by the way found rectangular tubing perfect for making the windshield frame ¾ in. by 1in.

oh ya and i pushed the front axle back about a foot, trying to make it a little shorter and i think it looks better

I know, I know it has been awhile; never the less, I made some progress this weekend I finished up a sheet metal brake that will bend 1/4 in plate so that I could make brackets for my front suspension. And then I started making them here is some pics
The first two are of the brake and the second two are of the brackets.

as for the front suspension

I havent really had time to work on the toy-t, so there is no updates there. Never the less in responce to the bolt on brackets I am pretty confident that these will work i still need to weld the upper an lower mounts for the hair pins and cross spring. Ummm, I did it this way because I did not want the steering to run in front of the axle, which is required using a standard batwing. By splitting them into an upper and lower mount I can run the tierod throught the middle of the hairpins. Next step is get the DOM tubing to make my hairpins and another tank of oxygen for the torch. be back soon

Ok its been a while since I had anything to post, but it looks like I will be back having fun on the toy t shortly. Finished remodeling the house, and we got someone comming by Saturday to sign the lease. They already walked through, filled out the application and are excited about it. How could you mot the house is gorgious and it has a 30x30 attached garage. Plus extra money means I get parts for the t most importantly more steel. By the way we are getting ready to have a baby, we find out in October if its a boy or a girl. Nervous excited ....................

Congratulations on getting the house remodeled & leased!

And congrats on the new child on the way!

And I'm sure it feels good to get back on the T!

Annabel; its going to be a girl, the lady doing the ultra sound just kept saying perfect.
Don't worry I'll teach her to weld.
