thanks you guys.
i really appreciate the kind words.
i wish i could say i built it. but i didn't.
all i did was a bit of body work
wire it
rebuild the carb
glass
heater
carpet
insulation
paint
little stuff like that.
one of the many many things i learned during this build was.
how much time and effort it really takes to find parts that are cheap enough and suitable.
i have hundreds of hours into just doing that.

i am toying with the idea of making a false sunroof for this car.
some kind of super tough and VERY uv resistant canvas to put over the steel roof.
with maybe snaps along the edges.

update
the cab got so hot it would burn your hand in the desert sun.
i put a double layer of heat sheild stuff.
(it looks like bubble wrap with foil on both sides)
inside the cowl,roof and rear walls.
it is like night and day.
the inside of the roof is warm now but not hot.
mission accomplished for 15 bucks!

driving it makes me feel like a little kid.

ya know?
if i had known that as a (supposed) grown-up.
i would get to own AK-47's, hot rods and antique jeeps.
i would have been a MUCH happier boy.

my automobile inexperience reared it's ugly head again.
i overfilled the 9" ford rear end and it blew the seal.
going to replace it tomorrow so i can drive it to colorado for the weekend
(300 miles each way)

i took measurements
and i had to look for a while to find some that wouldnt interfere with my steering.
these will fit.

i already chopped it 6 and channeled it 4
i like being able to see and comfort is at a premuim in tiny rigs like this one.

Hey Billy,

I think it looks perfect.
What did it take to get it titled.
When, not if, I get mine on the road we'll have to get together for a road trip.
I wasn't planning on a knee replacement getting thrown in the mix.
But I'll get it by spring maybe.

yo pops
to title it i went the home built title route.
showed up at the mvd with reciepts for every single hunk of steel, nut, bolt and car part.
had proof of insurance on hand as well as a weight certificate.
the nice lady (bless her heart) totaled the receipts.
looked over my papers and said lets go outside and look at it.
walked around it and asked me where i wanted my new shiny vin plate.
not counting waiting in line.
the whole thing took a half hour.

i am waiting for ups to deliver my reversed corvair box , roadster headers and kingpins.
i hired my buddy to fab up some bombproof motor mounts.
then i will be done once and for all!*






*done that is until i get my grubby mitts on some more moolah to throw at it.
