Pretty slick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks OI

Nice compressor Dozer. I bet it's less noisy also. Much appreciate the master/booster info. Compact is a great thing. Appreciate all your photos. :D

Thanks Burgerman, actually the new compressor is a little louder than the old one.

Now I have compressor envy.
I'm afraid that mine may have bit the dust after kicking on in this really cold weather.:(
Torchie

That really sucks Torchie

Neat idea putting the booster under the dash! Makes for a cleaner firewall, too.
What’s the other hole for, wiring harness?

Thanks Bama, the other hole is for the vacuum fitting on the bosster.

So I haven't posted any progress for a couple of weeks, but that doesn't mean I have been sluffing off. With the frigid temps work is really busy, propane is like groceries when it's cold you gotta have it.

I wanted to upgrade the dash on the car, and because we will be sitting back considerably further than the original occupants.

This is pretty much my first wack at custom sheet metal fabrication using all the tools I have accumulated. I think it was a pretty complex project to learn on. I stated off making a buck out of MDF.

I then went on to forming the first of the 11 pieces it took to complete.

Thanks Everyone

I see. How do you like the dust? MDF is wonderful stuff but it doesn't "breathe" very well.

.

I have done many projects with MDF great to work with but the dust will kill ya.

A couple questions. What gauge steel did you use, did you mig or tig it and did you get much warping.

The main flat front of the dash is 18 gauge, the other pieces are 20 gauge. All the welds so far are mig, and because they are most all on the center of the bull noses there is no warping. I also did them in small tacks slowly and randomly along the length. The last 3 welds on the face I'm planning on using the tig after I practice a bit:rolleyes:
