Here is the drop down I'm mounting all my crap on. Got some more wiring done today, I welded a bung in the rear to the frame for battery ground, run two off the engine to the frame and come off one of them into the interior to a ground stud. Grounded the MSD to the stud and went with one from the stud to that block you see on the panel. Now if that makes any sense what so ever I'm doing good. Over kill but I've seen what bad grounds will do on a race car. My dragster had a grd cable from the engine to the front where the battery was, chrome moly isn't a good grd source. I'm crimping, soldering and heat shrinking everything and that takes forever. Guess that's about it for today, need to work on some other peoples junk to make some money.

Very Clean.[cl :D

Can I borrow the drop-down idea? Thanks! I need a better place for my fuse panel. I may even make a basket for all the extra circuits I didn't need. Cool idea. [cl

vht, I know you're probably aware that the coil says not to use it with any 6 series MSD boxes.
That said, I am using one on my Goat with a 6AL box and haven't had any problems.

I know about the coil, I think they will work ok, don't really know why they say they won't. I have another MSD coil that will work if I have problems. Been doing some more wiring today, also modified a electric fan to fit the rad, took it off to paint it so I'll get a pic of it when it's mounted. The drop down has a 1/4 in stud that holds it up, I used a billet breather nut to hold it up. I'm going to finish up my fuel lines to the carb as soon as I find my new fuel pressure gauge that is screwed into my fuel Y log. I put it up for safe keeping I guess.

I put the gauges in the dash today, wired them in while I was at it. Also got the fan mounted and the rad assy back in. I was going to take a pic of it but some how forgot. Also after I took the upside down dash pic I realized I hadn't installed the bright light indicator so I done that. I got to get a new battery so I can test some of this wiring, that's a $120 shot.

On my phone the pic is upside down, don't know how it ended up right side up!

Got some stuff done and got some pics, carbs are plumbed, mounted the turn signals and wired them, mounted the tach, still got to wire it. Got the fuel cap worked out, pic of the fan mounted, it's off of a ford, cut it up and reworked the shroud to fit the rad. think that's about it. I got to get the push rod length figured out, made 2 adjustable ones this evening.

Engine is a tiny BBC, .030 427. My chevelle had more cubes and it was a SBC.

I figured I'd better update this build, been busy so I've been working on this in between other stuff. I got the push rods in, distributor in, need longer plug wires with 90 degree boots, friend of mine built me a 130 amp alt, got to get brackets made for it and a belt. Put a Hurst quarter stick in I had, damn cable was to short, it had a real tight loop in it so I ordered a 8 foot one, run it down by the right side of the trans and looped it around like I did on the drag cars, works great now. I don't know why they put a 3 ft cable on them. I'd have the wiring done if I had a head light switch, ordered one from Speedway's ebay site, it's been a week, they'd did say it's in transit. Ordered the shifter cable from Jegs one night, got it the next day. Decided to go on and paint it, it's got some small places still on it but what the hell, it's a hot rod. Cut the wind shield frame down, got the tail lights in plus some small things back on. I want to get it running, install the quarter glass I have and then take it to a guy that's going to cut all the glass and install the windshield in the frame. I'm going to use some kind of rubber mat on the floors, the rear will be vinyl and maybe some carpet. I need to make a trip to Home Depot and get a piece of 1/8 in plastic board for lack of a better description, I'll cut it and put it on the top and install the vinyl top and padding over it. May get extra and use it for door and quarter panels to cover, I think I can take a heat gun and form it. Got to get my wood cut first that the top fastens too. It will be last because I can drive it without the top. The 3 1/2 exhaust extensions hit the body so I'm getting some 90 degree pieces and will tuck them in under the body. The pic from the front makes the cowl look real light, tried 3 times, must be the lighting in the garage. It's titanium gray metallic. Think that's about it, I'm shooting for 3 weeks on driving it, it won't be completely done but at least I'll have a hot rod on the road.

Built the alt brackets today, Painted them so I'll wait and get a pic once in stalled. Going to try and get the quarter glasses in tomorrow and the metal panels made to cover below where the quarter goes. Once I get an alt belt and the plug wires come in, she'll be ready to start.

Alternator mounted, that's about it for today, going to try and get the glass man down here shortly. Friend of mine and another guy I know all need glass cut, so I'm hoping he'll come our way instead of me driving 50 miles one way.
