I've been looking for the right pedal car to turn into a hot rod stroller for nearly 2 years for my daughter who is now a little over 1, basically since we found out we were expecting. Unfortunately pedal cars in my area are pretty expensive ranging from $300-$500 for anything that isn't near-scrap.
I bought this 32 Roadster from a local memorabilia auction last weekend, it's a Ford-licensed car they only made for the 75th anniversary of the 32 Ford in 2007.
The plan is a lowered ride height, caster wheels in front underneath to ease with steering wheel pushing, some body mods and custom paint. I'll also be adding a push handle on the rear (removable), and some kind of sun shade.
Here's a mock-up, stock ride height versus lowered with new rear wheels and tires. I think I'll need to build a new front axle along with sectioning of the grille shell (it's sitting on the bench top in the mockup photo).
