You're doing a great job on this. I still don't see it as an improvement, but I can understand the owner wanting it as-new, and you chasing the almighty dollar. Can't wait to see it done!

I understand and I kinda agree. I would have liked to see it stay as it was but the paint was very very bad and more orange than Red. It had a lot of problems that have now been addressed and can be a daily driver for along time to come. The color is dead on match to the original and way better than what was on it. It is a fairly rare truck so it really should be preserved.
And as you said "chasing the almighty dollar" I do have bills to pay and mouths to feed so I do what is requested and paid for. My next project is going to be much more interesting although probly not RRR friendly eather but I gotta live.

Started lining the cab with Peel n Stick (thanks to the guys on here) the stuff works great. Also got the front and rear glass in.

Sorry, no I don't have or know of any. Good luck parts for these are very tough to come by. Are you restoring or rodding? If you are rodding you can use just about anything. Get us some pics of what you are doing.

Got back to work on the 37. Gotta get this thing done I can't wait to get going on the next one.
Anyway, started putting the inside together, the repop headliner is a POS and don't fit for chit but it is what it is I guess. Sorry about the bad pics my phone is getting old I guess.

The truck looks great, good work. On that steering wheel did you have to do any type of crack fixing? The steering wheel on my '52 pilothouse is pretty well cracked and id like to fix it so i can re-use it. Any tips?

Thanks,

-Chris

yes there were a few chips and cracks also very worn, almost flat in spots.
Cracks and chips were ground out with 40 grit roloc disks then cleaned with acitone and filled with duraglass then primed and painted.
Actually a lot of priming and sanding to be honest, just take your time and they are all fixable, just hope it stands the test if time;)

Thanks for the tips! Im gunna try and repair mine when the time comes. As long as it doesnt break off in my hands while i take a turn ill be happy haha :D

No problem, good luck with it. I found the worst part was painting it and keeping it wet without running it every where.:p

Got more of the inside together today. These control knobs were a real pain in the azz. They are brown baklite but were wrinkle black on the face with very small white letters. I had a guy make me small mask's (stencils) for the letters.
Found out my hands are shakier than I thought but it worked out ok.

I hope you get to take it for a test drive. Very interested in your opinion about how it rides and handles, compared to a truck with updated "hot rod" suspension and brakes.

You have done a great job. Looks beautiful.
