My kids call me Pops & the last page reminds me of one of their favorite books (and activities).

Thanks guys.
Clamor, that's just the way I feel sometimes when the little grand kids are here. I've got 8 of them from 18 monthes to 18 years old. A true blessing in my life.

Well I managed to get the drive shaft finished today. Seems like the older I get the worse my welds look. Not as pretty as a $350 store bought one but
I only have $116 and my time in it. I got it within .0015 on the dial indicator
so it ought to run. Hopefully it won't vibrate but if it does I can get it balanced. A little black paint and on it goes in the AM.

Got the tires mounted on the new front rims and on the ground.

Hank called and said he had my glass ready so we should be ready for a ride tomorrow....... if all goes well.

WHOOO HOOO!!!

The plan is to drive it enough to get it all checked out and fine tuned and shoot it with primer/sealer this summer. Then I'll blow it apart and make it
prettier this fall and winter.

Sounds good when you say it, I hope it works like I plan.

Really nice. Tires and wheels look right in the wheel wells. The bed/roll pan/tail lights are awesome.

Gotta admit that every time I see that lift I'm a bit jealous.

Thanks.
When I built my shop, that was the best money I spent. I'm too old to crawl under things and work on my back. Makes life so much more enjoyable.

That shaft looks strait to me [S
Every things goes together very well.
Have a great drive [cl

Thanks. Shaft is in with no vibration that I can feel which is good enough
for this kid.

Pops, you've done an outstanding job on your pickup [cl [cl [cl
I like everything about it

Thanks Old Iron, that means a lot to me coming from you.

Made the first trip today. More to come soon. I'm working on video.

Today was a good day. My grandson and I got the drive shaft installed and
the front windshield in the frame and installed.

He was all pumped when he got to pull it out of the shop under its own power.

We went for a short ride, about 40 miles by the time we got back.
Every thing worked as expected, knock on wood. The only changes I
have to make are that danged noisy fuel pump and I totally missed it on
the amount that the suspension would settle in with the weight of the truck.
So I have to get some tire clearance. I like the stance but front tires rub
during a turn. I couldn't feel any vibration at all out of the driveshaft, that's
a good thing.

We took some video but it kinda sucks to be honest. I'll post it any way tomorrow.

Life is good when you're rolling down the road!
