hoping to get the doors lined up this week. In the pic it looks off bad but the door is open an inch because there is no striker in the door so it drifts. Once the doors are lined up i am going to brace the cab and get measured off for the top chop.

Thanks for lookin

Cab looks pretty solid, should be a great project. You car is okay too I guess.:D

Cool!!! Another Ford rat rod truck! See what you started DMW56??? :D Pretty soon, we're gonna have to create a special section just for the
Ford F1's etc... :D

Seriously, I really think your cab is awesome. I really like the running lights. Like Bonehead said, It looks pretty solid. I wish mine looked as good! Fill us in on your plans for it.

The cab looks much better in the pics. There is a lot of bondo in it. My hammer is going to be very busy. The bottoms of the doors are ate up (but fixable) and the rear corners of the cab are jacked up. This truck was a work truck and I am suspecting it was one for a long time and it shows the wear. The fire wall is a little butchered also from installing a later model gm style steering column and other torn holes in places where I have no idea why they would have done so.

I jerked the windshield out tonight because I was worried about rust but I was amazed to see it was still very solid with a just a little pitting in the bottom corners of the windshield frame. I tried lining up the door but the screws being sitting for 60 years don't want to move. Soaked them in penetrating oil and will come back to them tomorrow.

As far as my plans go for the truck.... 5-6 inch chop. Custom frame planning on using 2x4 square and channel the truck to the bottom of the frame (if the truck hits want it to be the frame and not the body). I am planning to have a ride height of about 4 in'. Gonna run a suicide front end. Right now I am thinking on fabbing some sort of four link in the rear. As far as a running gear goes I have no idea. I would like to run some sort of big block (348 or 409 would rock) but I have to stick to the restraints of my budget. More and likely I will end up with a small block because of money. I might even end up with a six just because I can probably get one for nothing.

Thanks for the comments
