I got my motormounts done tonight. Started on the trans mount but ran out of time.

Got some tinnitus in my right arm so been laying off the heavy stuff. Cleaned up the motor and put some Burnt Copper on it, VHT Engine paint. Now its pure gold.

Got back on it this morning. Installed some backing plates on the spring mounts and finished up the transmission mount. Did some more cleaning. Should get the driveshaft done this week and start on the cab mounts.

Checked the angle again on the transmission and its at 8 deg. Going to raise some and redo the mount. I did get the driveshaft done and the bottom half of the loop.

Added some spacers to the trans mount now its at 4 deg.

I also installed the bottom half of the driveshaft loop.

You must be planning on spanking that thing a bit.....

Yeah its kinda double duty there, cross brace and loop.

Not much to update, I did locate a bed for my build. Will get it next week on my days off for free. Its a 67 stepside, going to remove the fenders and narrow as needed. Will post pics soon.

I have a 69 ste side bed center on mine. I dont think you will need to narrow it much if all. I am not going to narrow mine but then it is on a full size C1500 chassis. You will need to raie the floor up though to lower the bed.

Sounds good thanks. I am going to pick it up on Wednesday working nights till then. The wood floor is gone already so It will not be that much work to raise the floor supports.

Got the bed and removed the fenders. Measure it and looks like I will have to shorten it by about 18".

I also got my cab mounts installed and put the cab on. Ordered my wiring harness and cab mount bushings.

I also found these seats to use for now not really what I wanted but for $75 I got them with covers and on slider bracket.

Bed looks pretty solid from the pics. Noth'n wrong with the seats. In fact for a Rat I kind'a like to see the seats not match.

I see in your bed pics that the underbrush is starting to green up outdoors. i am curious if the trees are starting to bud yet? Can you tell me if the trees & flowers & such will be in full swing way down south where I'm headed for the bike ride? Thanks,Rex

The trees are just starting to bud, but the daffodil's are already bloomed.

The bed is pretty solid, but now im in arms about using it or using it on my 68 to convert it from a LWB to a SWB Stepside. I may just build my own bed for this 53.
