Thanks, Bergerman. I need a shot of motivation. The bed mounts look like they will withstand anything the world throws at them. [cl[cl

I got motivation to share Skip. Are you close to firing up that burnout machine of yours. [S I'm thinking big cloud of smoke. :D

Nice fleetside Skull. Cool indeed

So I messed up and installed the box out of square. Got that fixed. I need to measure more and slow down a bit. Got the other forward mount in. Recycled an old fence post. Box feels solid now.

Back in my early days at work I would write FFTF on drawings I sent to the Maintenance Dept. It meant Field Fabricate To Fit.[S

That is good stuff Bob. Started making the bed frame. Will cut out the wheel wells after I fab more of it. Nice working with new metal.

Thanks Skull. Not sure about the wood. Been look'n at your C notch and fab work. Think i'm gonna fab up the bed frame and leave the wood out for now for access to stuff. Alice does look good down in the dirt. :D

Oh yeah. Enjoyed your remark back when you were building Alice about "put it together...take it apart"...etc. Yep.

I use weather treated cedar, 3/4 thick in mine. I have used nice pine (pretty but doesnt last) common pine (ugly and doesnt last), finished poplar (pretty and expensive) and I priced oak (too much!) and the cedar with linseed oil on top works the best for me. I use normal strips, and a rabbiting bit in a router, doesnt take more than a half day to do the wood.

if you lay out the cross bars according to the pre stamped holes in the strips, you can use drill tip panhead screws and zip zip zip. [cl

looking good!

Thanks guys. Bed frame is coming along. Gonna use plywood for now to have a place to get stuff off the floor. Will install nice wood later. Need to get going on engine install.

Appreciate the wood tips Joe. :)

shocks

if running the stock rear shocks,,,,, a little trick l learned is tack weld either the nut or bolt in place on top of the bracket...so much easier than fighting with no room to work after the wood is installed permanently.

Later

Appreciate the shock tip Skull. GOT my rear fenders on. Started to trim the firewall to fit the tower of power. The plan is minimal firewall massage. We'll see how that goes.

Got the car trailer project inside while waiting to get the Slant 6 donor truck from the farm. Trailer is 30+ feet long... too big for the shop...no problem...gonna be shorter.
