The wheels and tires look great, DR. Ya done good. You have a very big project and your ability to stick with it is admirable.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. Always seems to me that you guys all move so much faster than I seem to! Tomorrow is another garage night however, I'm on you heels! [cl

the reason I'll be making bald tires is because mine already were...lol:D

You're moving along great, I haven't made any progress since Oct

Hey DR are those the rims I sent your way? They look good! I like the black better than the red. Red is over done now a days. [P

The ones you sent me are in the basement, a lot wider, and I think more backspace which I can't fit comfortably... But thanks =)

What size are those tires? 295/50R15? They look pretty short, with the open wheels they might look a little short?

I had what Mickey Thompson says are 29" tires, measured at 28" overall height. These are about 26.8"(Yes 295/50/15). I mentioned that I would be going about 1" shorter on overall heights on both front and rear when I was sorting out tire sizes. I'm thinking about putting the body on the rear later tonight maybe and seeing how it looks. Worst case is I add more to the wheel well area to fill in the gap.

Either way it will look ok in the end I think, and with a tire I can afford :)

That's cool, I hope it turns out the way you want. I went with a 31x10.5R15 SUV Touring tire on mine, so they're 31" tall and were reasonably priced.

Holy Crap!! DR..

you are making a ton of progress....feeling better?? [cl...
Cool....glad things are falling in line.....nice score by the way at the swap meet....was there Sunday with the boys....nothing I needed...

The other reason for the shorter tire is gear ratio, I'm trying to get away with the 3.31 gear and a .7 final drive (OD) with the trans... so I needed a shorter tire to accomplish that as well.

Minor-ish updates

Friday I dropped off the slip yoke to have shaftmasters make a driveshaft for the rat. They are taking off the stupid damper ring from it, and they also make a one piece cast flange for the rear pinion flange on the mustang rear end, so Monday the driveshaft should be ready.

I'm looking for either a fiero steering shaft or a 1996-2005 Astro/Safari steering shaft for the u-joint and they were collapsible setups that were 1"DD to 3/4" DD... Trying to save money and not build it from scratch...

Also found the pitman arm I need for $55 instead of $99 that it usually sells for!

Not a whole lot of work getting done again on this til maybe sunday night.
I did however find a cool set of hub caps, and I bought them. I sorted out that two of the hub caps I have (46 ford style) were welded to a baby moon cap in order to install them on the early wheel wheels.... So I may do something similar to get the new ones on the car.

Anyone care to venture a guess on what they came off of? :D

Meh, driveshaft was supposed to be done today, I got 3/4 of the way there and they sent me an email saying they made a mistake in the shop and put the wrong flange for the pinion side... so they have to shorten the shaft and put the right end on it... I decided to add in the bolt kit from them since I have no bolts, and they are the 12point 10.9 rated setups so made sense to just buy from them.

Decided to just putz around and formed mount areas on the grille shell for the blinkers, and test fitted those... not 100% happy with them yet, but its growing on me...

set backs...... smh :(

Look at it this way. They could have made the shaft too long, you not realize it then have the shaft grind out the back of your trans....... hmmmmm that kind of sounds familiar.... [S
