I'm new to this site and need advice on a 51 Cadillac. Trying to find out how to change engine and trans. But frame has Ibeam X in the way. Any help appreciated.

The upside down pic threw me at first [S
Typical older style frame with the big X member. I'm guessing it's in the way of your new tranny..... basically you will need to re-structure it, removing what's needed for clearance and rebuilding it with steel plate - a little tough to do with the body on with the cutting and welding to be done but doable. Depending on where your tranny mount ends up, a removable crossmember will be part of the structure, likely bolting to the bottom side.
