68 Valiant

Here's my 68 Plymouth Valiant 100. Started life as a slant 6, automatic. She now has a stroked 440 (508 cid), auto with 3800 stall, 4.10 suregrip (posi for you GM guys), frame tied and mini tubbed.

Really fast and unusual......nice ride....us GM guys understand that Moped...ah...Mopar lingo too....LOL

I know, that was the initial plan to go sleeper. But when the hood won't close, you have to make some adjustments

I'm familiar with the Schumacher tri Y headers, but to answer your question, those are TTY 2" primary under chassis.

Really like the A bodys. Yours looks like a very nicely done project. Had a half dozen different Valiants over the last 20 years. Two of my favorites were a 65 post car with a hot rod slant, did high twelves/low 13s in quarter and a 68 similar to yours with a 440/4speed. The 68 would run 12.30s all day long (as long as I didnt break anything). Broke half dozen U-joints, three 8-3/4 pumpkins, and twisted 2 axle shafts before I installed a built Dana 60 out of a Dodge truck. No more broken rearends after that.

This one has a 489 case with aftermarket axles so I'm hoping it'll hold. Plus not being a 4 speed, the "shock" shouldn't be too bad.

Automatic oughta be a little nicer than the 4-speed/500+HP 440 I had in mine. Had 14 x 32 slicks too. Little car hooked good and was always breakn parts. Saw lots of sky coming off the line. Makes me wish I still had the car.

Had a 66 I think with a straight 6. Was going to put a 340 in it...but never got around to it...sweet ride!
