i went once. My wife at the time was the offspring of a long time SCTA big wig. Well worth the trip.

Stopped at the rest area on I-80, walked out on the salt. Closest i will ever get

the black 54 ad truck with the chute out is the pilgrim & stubbs land speed racing team, the stubbs half is one of my baby brothers. yes i have two both half brothers. set the record at 220 mph with more on tap. i do know it is a turbo diesel. they also have a couple motorcycles and a vette. not sure what they are doing with the vette but i have a pic of it spinning out at around 225 mph with one wheel on the ground. tore a lot of the body panels off in the spin.
