That car is going to be an awsome ride when you get it done. Some really nice fab work. The one off stuff is going to make it stand all on its own.people will definately be scration there head when they check out that car.Keep up the good work.
We got the hood completely reinforced with round tubing and it is stiff as can be now. We made an attempt to use a pair of struts to hold the hood open, but they were way too powerful, so instead we went with a simple but effective prop rod. And most importantly, we finally came up with a way to connect the knee action shock and the trailing arm. This had to be done in a way that would not place the heim joints in a bind throughout the range of motion. We have been kicking around ideas for this issue for at least the last 6 months, so this was a great day in the garage!!!
Well , we worked on his car all day Sunday. We basically spent a good 10 hours fitting the passenger side door. The previous shop put the new heater channel in a bit too high and they hacked off all of the rear lip on the door to clear the body. We also had a bit of an interference issue between the hinge and the body to deal with.
So we sectioned a grinder wheel thickness out of the bottom edge of the inside panel of the door, Cut and re-welded the hinge, added a lip back onto the back edge of the door and then got the door all lined up and latching perfectly!
We got some pre-easter work in on Matt's car yesterday. We built an e-brake mount that could also serve as a boat anchor if needed. Atleast until it is welded to the tunnel that is!
