Working on a hoist leak on a dozer in a fine New Mexico micro burst wind storm.Took a header of a D11 hood-and landed on one foot on the ground. All I could think was not to land on my head.
Maybe I should of its the only part I can’t hurt....[dr

Yes that’s right. Could of been a lot worse. I sure appreciate the well wishes from you all. Can’t wait to get back to flinging rust around the garage.

Seems like it's getting longer bob.
Take time to heal up Abasham. The back problems that I am fighting now happened when I was 30. I never took the time to heal up from 2 back surgeries as I had a business to run and employees that counted on me to be at work. As well as a family to support.
Now I am paying the price.

With that being said I did get out in the garage today for a bit. Got me a roll around office chair that I knew was gonna come in handy.
Had these old wheels I got a couple years ago. Figured this was a good sit on my but job. First I got the saws all out and cut the old bias ply tires off the fired up my HF hand held sand blaster with aluma media. Not the best tool but works ok besides the mess. Then I wire wheeled it with a die grinder. Dang near ready for powder coat. One more to go. Duct tape kinda seemed strange to find in ther. Makes sense tho...

It sure made it easy to clean up. Hope the other ones look like that after the old shoes are cut off.
I happen to have seven of them so my odds are pretty good

They used the duct tape in stead of buying tube/rim liners. They were used on rimes that have spokes like that or were held together with rivets.

Good to know. I was gonna get that stuff they put on bicycle rims but I guess the duct tape will work. I’m all about cheap. Thanks for the info

Quick update: have the engine honed and ridged reamed. Still need to do the final wash to get the block clean. Then I will be ready to start putting it together.
Have the tunnel ram ground/sanded smooth ready for powder coat as well as some other engine parts to do the same. Going to cook on some copper vain powder soon I hope.
on the good side the doc says I’m healing up pretty quick and hope the wound will be healed in a couple weeks then I can start putting some weight on it and making some real progress. Hope to make this thing a roller before the snow flies.

Well I’m not anywhere close to working yet but between Cabin fever and honestly just can’t stand being in the house no more me and my 8 year old boy got out and did a lil bit.
Got the new frame pulled off the table and got the frame jig half way out of the way.
Built some blocks to go under the frame to set up suspension. Used 2x4 and 1 1/2 inch tubing in the back for a total of 5 1/2 in. Figured I’m i big ol boy (350lbs)
And I’m running a big block so that should give me plenty of room for sag and still have 3in of frame clearance. ( I hope)
Also set the car with 2 pieces of 1 1/2 x3 for six inches.
With 1/4in belt for body mounts should give me 3/4 in above the “ground zero” point.
All this is in my mind lol could be way off!!!
Please feel free to input if I’m screwin up or even if not.
Did set in the car today for the first time.
Don’t have much room and damn sure can’t see much but was still pretty cool.

Thanks for the update. Really like that heavy frame. 2x3 is the standard
but it looks spindly and i have 2 or 3 but if i do another it will be 2x4.
