yesterday i replaced the old worn out Prestolite dizzy in the stude with a "delco-adjust-points-through-the-window" model.
new leads, plugs, points, condensor, rotor, cap and fine working dizzy still didnt discourage the miss that showed every once and a while just cos...
checked Uncle You tube in case there was a trap in dis-assembly, took off the top and peered down in the fuel bowls.. jeepers !! theres some rubbish in there.
carefully soaking the fuel out with small pieces of rag, tried a magnet to no avail, not about to blow the crud out , i went and raided Mrs Crates blu tack collection
that works just fine no crud , ( i know i coudlve pulled the carb - id already done that sometime back to tighten the screws on the butterflies didnt want to risk compromising the gasket)
when i bought this car it had a new fuel filter fitted even though its a see through model there is no crud ..
blue tack = no crud ...
stude is much happier now ---
