I was going to use a pair of F100 11" Bendix brakes on the front of my next build build but got a killer deal on some Buick Aluminum drums at a swap meet. So I'll be using them on my Model A pickup build.

I'm using a pair of F2 backing plates but F200 will work also. These are 12" X 2" Bendix brakes so lots of stopping power.

The F2 backing plates were originally a one sided wheel cylinder. I converted it to a dual sided wheel cylinder.

I like these backing plates with the round spindle mount which matches the round 37-41 spindles. Even though they can't with square back spindles.

I'm using 41 Ford spindles because I like the round backs. I'm also using a 39-41 front axle.

The best thing about the F2 backing plate is they fit inside the Buick drum with minimal machine work. The hubs diameter need to be reduced and the Drum needs a little machine work to fit properly.

When using the 39-41 hubs you will need a concentric ring for the drum to fit the hub.

I think it will look good with the 16"x 4" Ford wheels. I'll also be using a reversed Corvair steering box.
