C4 steering shaft seal

This C4 Vette power rack is leaking at the steering shaft. Fortunately it is easy access now that it is fully exposed and nothing in the way. I can't find anything on the web showing how to remove the old seal. Old age and experience is telling me to ask for advice before i get heavy handed and destroy everything around the seal again.

Didn't try it. I figured it was just worn out. New seal is on it way now. Thanks

Is there a snap ring on top of it? If not then it should just pop up out of there. Only issue is the one you can see is just a dust seal and doesn't hold P/S pressure. There are hard plastic O ring style seals under it that may be bad if I remember correctly. [P

Got it out JFG. Tried to find the one seal i needed locally but finally had to buy
the whole rebuild set from rock auto. Thanks
