caddy 500

Looking for any pics of a 500 caddy in Model a or similar... Im mocking my car up and i think im going to have a issiue with the steering box and engine cleaernce seeing how the caddy is pretty wide.

Steering issues

Not a Model A and not a Caddy 500 but I can relate to your problem...

350 Pontiac in a 31 Hudson with an S10 frame

Hope this helps. I had a 67 Firebird steering column that came out behind the 350 ponch 4 feet away from the S10 steering box. Went to Borgesons website and donated my left arm and part of a leg for parts I needed...

the caddy 500 is about the same width as my cowl and the 500 is going to be closer to the fire wall. I may have to go with cowl steer

This is not a model A either but is a Caddy. Distributor in front actually helps with firewall clearance but oil pump and filter located in front and low gave me frame clearance problems. But Ive seen Cadillac in a model a so it can be done.

Here's a Caddy in a 33 Chev roadster - probably a wider cowl than an A - I used a vega box and cross steering, drop tube axle. As you can see in the pic, the box fit just in front of the engine mounts / crossmember/. This frame is also longer than the Model A so a frame stretch may be in your future to fit the Caddy.

zzrodder thanks also. I have a custom built frame that i made long enough for the 500. My friend says one out of vw bus will work to. Hes got one i can have.
