Almost done! :p

We're using the same cutoff tool, different colour. It would be nice if the body of the thing was smaller than the disc, huh?

Indeed Dr.
I've overcome some of that issue by using a 4" cutting disc with the same size arbor hole as the smaller discs have. The 4" disc keeps that housing away from the material allowing for some better access. I wore out my air powered one a while back and have yet to replace it.
Plus the larger wheel size means I don't have to change them out as often.:D
That picture that you see shows about half of the disc used up already.

Your making good progress. Keep at it.
Thanks kenny. I hope things are going better for you.

At least the floor/sill/rocker replacement takes a lot more time than money.

True, bob.
I picked up the rocker skins a year ago and am using what's left of my 16 gauge metal from the truck build to patch in the floors.
Like many repro parts the rockers are not a exact duplicate of the originals.
They will match each other though as I replaced both sides.:p
Plus they get covered any way with a wide SS trim piece.
Torchie.
p.s. I sent you a PM.:D

Thanks Torchie. Every thing is in limbo. Lawyer says to make no improvements on the 37 till all is settled. Court date is Feb 1st.

Where I started this morning and where I finished.😳
One of those kind of things I guess. Lol

Didn't even feel like putting on the leg this morning.
When this happens I force myself to get up and go do something.
This is the results of doing something.:)
PS floor all pieced in and tacked.
I ended up cutting out much more on this side then the DS to get to solid weldable metal.
On to full welding.[;) [;) [;) [;)

Looks very sturdy and nicely fitted. [clWhat are you cutting that 16 gauge with?

I don't consider that sheet metal, it's steel plate to me.

Thanks , bob.
My tried and true method , Bob. Cheap hand jigsaw( with a light on it) and very good Bosch metal cutting blades.
I cut out the patch then lay it on the floor . Mark it and use a small electric cut off wheel to cut out the Floor.
16 is tough to bend but since I don’t have a bead roller it makes for a sturdy floor. By the time I get all the under bracing repaired it will be quite stout.
I think the original floor is somewhere between 16 and 18 gauges. I have mixed use of both. 16 where I can. 18 where I have to. Good penetration on all the tacks. I’m happy with it so far.

PS floor about 90 percent done this morning.[;) [;) [;) [;) [;)
Every once in a while the old Torchie that knows how to weld shows up. :p
I will do very little grinding on these welds. Just enough to knock them down a bit.
When I finished up I took a quick rough measurement of all the welding done so far on this car.
I figured I'm at around 100 linear feet so far. One tack at a time.
I will finish up this area of the floor tomorrow and possibly the quarter panel piece as well.
Depends on how the hands feel.(Or don't.:p )
Keep on keeping on.....
Torchie.
