D50 frame VIN

So I'm using a d50 frame under my 55 Dodge pickup and the state patrol said before covering up the VIN on the frame to give them a call and they'll come out so I can register it.........My question is that is there a vin stamped on a 1980 d50 frame and if so where?[S

Mine is on the inside of frame rail on drivers side middle of gastank.... Second gen D50 I guess its on inner frame passenger side before the rear tire

That's interesting. In Alberta even if you change frames the vehicle is registered by the vehicle serial number, not the frame number.
