Hard to believe it was 32 years ago. That was one of those news items that you remember where you were when you 1st heard about it.
Was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX at the time, ironically.

Yep, I remember where I was when I heard the news that Elvis had passed. I guess it's a little late now, but the Turner Classic Movies channel was showing Elvis movies all day.

I saw it scroll across the bottom of WTBS during a re-run of Gilligan's Island.

I went over to a friends shop over the weekend, and he had Elvis blowing out his speakers. I was singing along to all the classics.

You know its pretty sad, they made more of a big deal about the anniversary of Woodstock, then they did the anniversary of Elvis' death. I figured they would play Elvis movies and songs all weekend, didnt hear or see anything. Its really sad here considering we are 2 hrs from his home.

Good Grief...it's really been 32yrs! I was on the air that day and read the news story when it came across the wire.....32yrs? really? I must be old now.
