I just gave myself MLK Day off. Hit some black ice on the way to work at an intersection - good time for my brake pedal to hit the floor. Slid through an intersection - nothing else happened, so limped it back home. Now I get to work on brakes when the sun comes up - Yay!

And while we're on the B/S thread here's a tip for everyone. No matter how much your 8 year old with a cold whines about being thirsty, don't let them drink from your soda. I thought I was invincible enough to not get his cold, I was WRONG!......CR

I use germx hand wash and believe it has helped reduce the number of colds I catch. No way I'm sharing a soda, I won't even drink from a public water fountain! Get well soon

Every-time I sit for my 15 mo old grandson I end up with some sort of crap. Whatever your drinking out of a cup he wants to try, did I mention how much a 15 mo old back washes into your cup? Yuck... heh...

I've gotten used to not stopping well - our city is only salting the main streets this year.
Did get my brakes fixed. Rusted out line on the front right. So of course, left side instantly blew out too. Expected that. But it's done.
BTW cardboard makes a great creeper on solid ice!
As for colds, there is only one thing I'll risk getting sick for, and it ain't welding.

Funny you should mention brake failure. Mine just went out on me today too, on my 2500. I was delivering a mill today on my tri-axle 5th wheel trailer and apparently i blew a line or something. The trailer brakes were the only thing i had going for me. I almost slid through NYS Route 12 right infront of a bus. Good times....

well, i wanted to share my new experience w/the ratrod crowd.....
i started on my education this month-th 14th and am now taking a full load of baptist seminary classes in little rock.....i leave home on thursdays about 5 am to get there by 8, then have classes til 1.....nite classes from 545 till 10 and then another round of classes on friday from 8-1.....
keep in mind that i have not been in school since graduating in 1991!
if you want a few good laughs just think of a middle aged guy that doesn't work with technology well, never done a term paper, and really doesn't like the stuffed shirt mentality of some theologians, now right in the middle of it all!
in an attempt to get a better handle on the Bible to help my congregation,
and to get a little help in the disciplines of studying the greatest and most misunderstood book in the world.... i submit myself to this venture
