Exposed transmissions - How do you seal the firewall?

How the heck do you break something that bad???....the last time I saw something like that I was at the local oval race track....

I cut the trans tunnel out of my doner 79 Firebird, filled the gaps front and back, got good strength and good protection at the same time.
