Okay heres the story. 3 weeks ago i bought a 1950 ford flathead inline 6 off of Ebay for $25 and the trans for $50. I was told he pulled it for a v8 flathead swap. The car showed 66,000 miles on the od. The motor and trans sat in his heated and A/CD garage until his wife told him to sell it. So after a few weeks of hunting and waiting i finally got a starter for it. With the help of some friend we started it for the first time since 1994 ! We checked to see if it would rvrn turn over when we brought it home and it was free with no tight or lose points and every thing seemed to be okay.
After a beer or ... we had the hot wire in place and used a set of jumpers to spin it over. The 3rd try it started! A little smoke (we put some mystry marvel oil in each barrel) and no funny noises! we ran it 3 times after that and each time it started better, total time running about 2 min in a 45 min time frame.
so now i have a lot of work to do but its al fun.
