No motor or trans...it's actually a '40 Chevy body with a fiberglass '39 Pontiac front clip! I've been doing this for a LONG time, and have never seen a 'glass Pontiac front clip EVER!
Someone did a really nice job for a one-off project!
It's got an old chrome CAE front axle with quarter-elliptic springs in front, and an early Olds posi rear with quarter-elliptic springs and 4-foot long lift bars...state-of-the-art gasser suspension set-up for '66-'67!
...aluminum 5-spokes on front, chrome reverse on the rear, orange plexi-glass windows, and an old chrome 3-point roll bar...
A couple of my buddies who are long time hot rodders & drag racers from this area, were also at the auction, and looked at the car with me, but didn't recognize it or remember seeing it run...which could also mean the car itself might not even be from this area originally...
...but they agreed, it was a high-dollar car at the time, with the fiberglass work, the suspension, and all the chrome...
I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do with it yet, it's really rough...but I might stick my 6-carb '62 389ci Pontiac motor in it, and leave the rest as-is, for the basement at Autorama...
