You're not lying this time Doc., but it doesn't make life any easier to a dedicated Y-block guy, with tears on his cheeks. The FE didn't get cool until the Hi-Perf 390, then the 427, and 428.
 
I understand, Mac. Too bad you can't see under the hood of the some of the full bodied gassers, so you could wipe the tears away!

Thank you, Guys.
I have complained, to anyone who'll listen, that Ford set out to keep away from the 'sexy motor' limelight. The Y-block was pretty good, so Ford replaced it early with the FE, then the small block evolved into the Cleveland 351, Whoooa, so they quickly made it into the 'M' series.
I shouldn't whine so much, because Ford has made some mighty fine motors lately.
End of rant!
