Fabulous pics Doc! But what in the wide world of sports is that first one??? Some wildly odd combination of parts for sure....

I was looking at that one too! Looks like a 4 banger..

Once again, curiosity forces investigation...

I assumed that shot was from Riverside California, but it's from Melbourne Australia. It's described as a Morris Minor with a BMC (British Motor Company) B series engine.

ANYBODY can tell it's a bit of a Morris Minor body.:D Looks like something I'd build.

It sure does. :D

Another round...

He called it a Yeet
The ad: (I changed one word so as to keep it cleaner)

"Going to a yeet meet!? Got whacha needs right ear ...got half my check in the other day , went on ahead and lifted er up in the front ..dont launch it tho she's a flipping c**t I tell ya ...... May consider trades case of beer and at least a 1/2 pack of smokes"

The '32 Vicky belonged to Larry Teeter. I was helping Al Tschida during the time Larry was a top competitor. C/Gas class in the1960's was a small inch, high winding, gear slamming riot. By today's performance it was nothing, but I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.

The yellow '55 is a modern pic. The Bad Banana ran with the Southeast Gassers till he moved to Texas. He and others are organizing a Texas branch the SEGA.

I love the Model A coupe with the hemi with 6 or 8 leakers on top, set back 25%.

Fabulous pics Doc. I actually raced on the last day at the old Mission track in the 70's (1978??[S) There was a no start rule for racecars from noon to 1PM Sundays for church services nearby in the city. The track was sold and a Fibreglas Canada plant built there which had a short life... Took years for the government to make good on their deal to allow the new track just down the river a bit.

The first car, a Prefect owned by Steve Woods evolved into a 7 second gasser. He retired 4-5 years ago.
That's Ohio George Montgomery with the '33 Willys. On his way to fame and fortune.
The yellow Willys is Bing's Speed Shop and is flathead powered. One of the premier flathead builders of his time.

Great comments bob and zz. [cl

Sunday bundle of Willys...

Bad photo of Murray and Neelin at Bison. Ken Murray is a machinist and engine builder extroardinaire from Winnipeg.

Yes, Al Tschida's (RIP) Green Willys. Looks like sitting in line at the Nationals in Indy. Sponsored by MAS, Minnesota Auto Specialties, where Al worked. Owned by Gary Kohn, who fell down the basement steps in the Minneapolis store and died.

Al ran 292, 301 and finally 332 inch Hilborn injected small block Chevys, T-10 4 speed, usually 5.83 rear gears in a Chevy 3/4 ton full floater rear end.

I helped polish those real magnesium wheels.
