Going to be helping a freind with a 1 1/2 ton 1951 chevy. Wanting to flip the front axle over the top of the spring. Our question is can we or do we bent the pitman arm or relocate the steering bear box to keep the correct angel on the linkage so not to have bump steer. Sorry no pics at this time, but its a chance to learn and work on something. Aside from a C notch in the frame. Anything else we need to do?

You will need to raise the steering box the same amount as the axle so the drag link is in the same position as originally. Bending the pitman arm won't do it. I did the over spring mounting years ago and the result was crazy bumpsteer - I had to raise the steering box, that totally cured it.
