God, I love this place!!!

This isn't to bash another forum but rather to praise this one for being made up of genuinely nice, caring people, a real rarity today it seems.

I just saw a thread on another forum where a member there couldn't understand why people post things like " We just had a baby" and other non-car related subjects. He felt they had no place on a car forum. He even went on to describe himself as an ***hole for feeling that way, and that didn't seem to bother him.

What insensitive jerks like him don't get is that a forum is a bunch of friends getting together and friends have good times, bad times, births, deaths, lose jobs, want to vent, etc. and we share those events with our friends. Whenever I have had some loss in my life, like losing a loved pet, I feel very comfortable coming on here and pouring my heart out. Same goes when I see another member hurting over some issue in his or her life, I hurt right along with them.

So, I know it has been said a million times, but this place is really special because of the membership and administration. Some forums feel a little "cold" somehow, but this one never has. Thanks guys.

Ha, ha, I know of whom you speak. Matter of fact, I sent him an e-mail about the closed thread. He's a little gruff, but a good friend. He has a friend with really long hair, which he flips like a girl. He rags on that guy all day long. The long haired guy was talking to me at the Ventura Nationals and it was windy. The wind blew the guys hair into his own mouth, without skipping a beat, my buddy asks, "How's the hair taste?". I almost fell out of my chair.

You know I was just thinking about this today. I'm member on several sites that i visit and read and search for information, but RRR is my home and the only place that I post anything anymore. I'm actually nervous that when/if I start my belly tank project in the spring if it would be accepted here. I'll use the old "UNODIR" method and with any luck RRR Mod won't use the "Intergalactic Space Modulator" on me!

Those other forums could learn a thing or two from this one.

What stands out for me is the level of maturity. No Kindergarten mentality and childish name-calling. No choking and hair-pulling. I see respect and support regardless of the topic, suggestions instead of scathing criticism.

For those reasons, and the ones already mentioned, I hope I've found a home here.

Yeah, he is a riot. To be honest, I was surprised to see you in there agreeing with him. He may be your friend, but his position that no one should post anything but car related items shows how shallow he is. Karma is a funny thing, and he may find some day he wants to share something going on in his life on there and I hope he gets the same treatment he gave to the others. I don't care if you like him or not, he's a selfish jerk.
