I have resently acuired a 46 ford flat bed, the bed is gone. its not in bad shape pretty fair giving the circumstances. i plan on removing the cab and making a rat rod out of it. what make, year, and model car would be the best to sit the cab on? .... thanks for reading.... acurate responses will be much appriciated
 
You have more options if you will be running a bed and fenders.

With fenders, nobody can see an ugly frame, like S10.

Fenderless, then you might want something very simple.
 
You need to have a plan as your first step.

Decide if you want Fendered or fenderless. IFS, suicide or not. Bed or no bed and how long.

Then build or buy a frame depending on your capabilities. If you are going fenderless you can use a Model A type frame or Model T if you want a suicide front end. I went suicide and bought a 27 T type frame from Spirit Industries cause it was cheaper at the time that me purchasing the steel. They will custom build one to your specs too.

Fendered, use a Ranger or S10 frame or even a Toyota or Nissan will work.

Look at my build thread and others on here to get an idea.
 
Definitely check out the builds section - lots of good ideas there. Depending on what your plans are, makes a big difference on what frame to look for. If your welding skills are top rate, you might wanna check out Boneheads build - tube frame - very original and you can build to fit.
