It's been really beautiful as the sun goes down but as far as the fish'n goes... so far I've just been feed'n da fishes! Hopeully that too will change as the flounder & bull reds had been runin'! And no... we'd didn't get oiled here in Galveston!
One time I saw an old man fishing on a causeway and I stopped to see how he was doing. I asked "How is the fishing?" He said, "The fishing is great, but the catching isn't worth a d***!!!" I guess that sums it up, the real enjoyment is just getting out there and relaxing. Glad to see you are getting some of that, Bob.
Thats one thing I had really wanted to do a few more times this past summer. I got out twice and only caught a 6" small mouth bass, but I guess that was better then nothing. Actually just figuring out an ice fishing trip for February, going to take my dad and brother inlaw for their christmas gifts.
Nice to see fellow fisherman, they don't call us "catchermen" do they? I steelhead fish on the Snake River here in the winter, cold but fun. I caught a 10 pound steelhead last year. I am planning on going soon maybe for a couple days. It is pretty up there, deepest river gorge in North America. Hell's Canyon, it is deeper than the Grand Canyon by around 2,000 feet. I checked. It is not as warm as your area though. It probably warms up to freezing on a good day. Good luck on the fishing.
