I picked this up today along with a couple of boxes of other goodies. I hadn't ever seen this setup before. It's got an electro-magnet that, when activated, pulls on the brake pedal, after it's been depressed to stop the vehicle. The directions are pretty much eaten up but readable. It's all new stuff and was bought at K-Mart. Price was $3.50. I guess if it worked right, it would be great in the hills and mountains.

I think you have it wrong......what that does is hold the brake pedal after you have stopped to keep you from rolling back on a hill. You come to a stop, hit the switch with the brakes on, and you can take your foot off the brake pedal. That way, you can have a foot on the gas and one on the clutch. Let out on the clutch, mash the gas, and hit the release button, it releases the brakes and away you go!

I have heard some newer cars have something similar to that installed on them from the factory. They all it anti-roll-back and you double tap the brakes when on a hill and it holds them for you then releases when the clutch is released so far.

Pontiac had that in 47
I rebuilt the master cylinder on a buddy of mines 47 Pontiac coupe like to of never figured it out
