Instead of threatening to withhold Social Security payments of people who really need the money, or our Military who protect us....Lets hold the paycheck's of all house & senate members, then see how fast it is resolved!!!!! Pass it on....maybe they'll get the message! Pass it on!

Yeah - this belongs in the BS Forum! It's the same kind of BS the city councils always pull - 'we'll have to cut firemen or policemen jobs' instead of their pet projects. I'm not going to say anything about state gov. - Iowa is a peach compared to our neighbor across the river, Illinois :rolleyes:

Yep. I'm a Forced early retired Fighter fighter. A pension starting at age 51 a couple of years ago.

Here a fact that a lot of you do not know about. The city have a option to opt out of social Security for there fire and police employees. Most city did so most fire fighters and police have no earning for Social Security for there years of service.

I'd be more than happy not to pay into SS. Of course, when I was 22, that probably wouldn't have been such a good idea.

Yea that would be nice. But right now I would only get about $135 in SS. That is only because of the jobs I had before Fire fighter career and working part time for the college
