Hey guys
How are you all? fine I hope....It's been a long 18 months for me, around the first of last year I rented a duplex with a run down garage spent about 1 grand fixing it up started a shoebox project, then in Nov the owner said he lost the place to foreclosure so I had to sell the shoebox. now my son inlaw and I rented a large shop and I built a studio apt above the office space about 900 sq ft. now its home to me and Sweetpea.[cl
A fella wanted to buy my Hot Rod and I wouldn't sell so he asked if I would build him one, soooo a new project to share with you guys if you like?[P
I'll post pictures each week of my progress just as I did last time with my rod.
Its a 30 coupe with 35 wheels the guy wanted it on the ground but I talked him into reason at 5" high.I'm fabing the frame right now and using a 35 front end.I have a question Does the f1 juice brakes convert to 35 I know they will work to 37 but not sure about 35:confused:.....any help? I'll post pictures tomorrow ....post soon Doug n Dog

Sounds like a tough year and a half! Sorry to hear about the shoebox, I love those and I can only imagine how you felt...Hang in there and don't forget the pics![cl..CR

Howdy Doug, glad to see you are back and back at it again. Congrats on the new shop and from what I can see it looks great.
And once again thanks for allowing me to copy alot of your build while I built my 46 roadster. :p

Good morning Folks
got some progress on the rod the past week. hung the rear end, needs to be welded out yet but came together pretty good. the deal I have with the owner is he is to supply all the component's and do ALL parts chasing;) at the cost I'm charging to build the chassis. I sent him to get Neon rear springs he came back with springs that came out of a Chrysler Hemi. he said the junk yard guy said the neon springs were too large (outside diameter) and that hot rodders use the springs he got. I could not change his mind :( soooo I went for it.I'm not a people person so I have a hard time dealing with people who don't want to listen to reason. the guy he bought the body from told him to bring the car over when it's done and he would stamp numbers on it to get it titled:eek: I told him NOT a good Idea in Calif to play with numbers. the body is not stolen but has no title. for me if a car has NO title I NO buy especially in Calif. titling can be a nightmare in Calif...

I have not put a pan hard bar in place. the rear end seems to be pretty tight with the springs and all I'm not sure one is needed. on my rod I have coil overs and I used a pan hard bar on it. any opinions out there[S I'm always open to ideas, advice, or criticism. I added a couple of pictures of my rod and new (to me) bike. Please let me know what you think as I have always valued you guys input :)

Hey Guys
Well The rolling chassis is finished and now I move on to putting the floor in. This should be fun as I have bought a 48" Pan and Box Brake from Harbor Freight....not the best around but one I could afford. pick it up to day. here's some pictures the Rod sits a little low as I need to put 2 more leafs in the front spring. the body on the way to the sandblaster. well I 'm taking a week off and rest up. I have a deal in the works to trade a very nice 77 Corvette for doing the labor[;) on building a boat tail roadster after the first of the year Kinda hope it comes through. I need a winter car. as I'm stuck when it rains and my partner has the shop truck out on jobs. I drive my Rod every day it doesnt rain, or my bike. so I need a winter car or have winter go away and I don't think that will happen:) Post soon as I have progress................Doug & Sweetpea
