AKA Route 66. Sometime next year in the Comet. Drive across Canada and then down to Chicago and west from there, stopping along the way to visit shops, maybe catch some shows etc etc. Planning everything out right now, getting hold of tattoo shops along the route etc...but it's gonna happen!....after I get back from Australia haha. I'll keep everyone up to date...but would be rad to have a bit of a convoy along the route! Not the entire thing, but it'd be killer to have some rods cruise the old road...and would make for hella photo ops.

I was told that the National Falcon meet is in Arizona and a few are meeting in Chicago and then running down Rt.66 to the meet once I know more I will post it in case anyone is interested depending on when I'm thinking of joining them it would be a great memory.

sounds like a cool trip. I might be able to catch ya close to joplin/okla line and cruise with ya part way across okla. Itdepends on the time and my funds. school teaching has its benefits, but draw backs also.

it's looking like I'll be starting around the end of April and then taking my time getting through. There's the Barona show usually end of June or July I think in Cali, and I want to hit that for sure (catch the boys play and look at all the fancy cars)...but other than that it's pretty wide open at the moment!

Couple of memories of old 2-lane 66. Late '50's following a rendering truck thru the desert. Two lanes, could not pass for a long way..... could not breathe either! 1960 in the desert again the El Capitan rolled right along side the still two lane 66. As i watched from the train there was a boiling cloud of dust near the highway and i could just make out a car tumbling end over end as it went off the road.

found a cool little site with "haunted" stops along the route...neato. Also found a website with turn by turn directions (including updates from original/pre 1940 to post 1940 updates --and later))....A few shops along the way already keen on allowing me to sit in for a day or two and earn some $$ as well as join me along the way. Harley is planning on meeting me in NM and cruising to LA/Long Beach with me and a few others. Stoked!

so far this is what I'm thinking. I have to make a side trip to head to Vegas for a few days for Punk Rock Bowling (haha yes, HAVE to...darn) so will back track a bit. But here's what I'm thinking. Realistically the trip can be done in a couple weeks, but as long as I'm in Vegas for a certain date the rest doesn't really matter too much. H is going to meet up with me in Gallup NM (probably) and we'll drive the Comet and his bucket all the way to California and spend some time causing a scene in Long Beach afterwards.

The name alone makes it certain that H will want to stay there haha. And considering I'll be stopping there after Vegas, a good night's rest will be in order I'm sure!
