I bought a lift!!!!!

you made me wonder if I measured correct. [S[S

YEP - it sits at 125" in that mockup pic.

I bought a kwik lift on craigslist for $475. pick it up tomorrow night.
I am totally psyched about that deal. Prob worth double that.:D

spent 4 hours today redoing body welds from the chop top. I cant believe how much better a Miller 140 welder works than a cheapo 80 amp one.

Taking next 4 days to toy in garage and the yard so progress will be made for sure.

narrowed rear test assy

test fit things and found I needed wheel adapters, no problem.
adapters worked great. calipers need slight clearance for wheel weights but all will work just fine.
ordered "bearing and seal kit for 9" differential" to receive one side only.[ddd
they seriously need to rewrite their ebay listing.

Been a while- update

Started my own business doing home repairs and renovations so I have been busy. I started a facebook page (Reliable Renovations kurt) to show off some jobs. Came across the rat rod buildoff guys there and got inspired to weld and grind a bit. I swapped out the Farmall nose and picked up an UNKNOWN nose that was used on a vintage go cart as an engine cover. Its cool because it had been squeezed narrower and has what appears to be old school lead tape? bonded or leaded to seal the trim holes. The fender areas have been made into skirts. anyone have any clue what this was off of? I mocked it up in basic paper to see what it will look like grafted into a massive flip front end.
The 50 ish olds lights are now frenched into the cab roof and soon the roof buttcrack will be patched up.
The 4.56 spooled mark IV rear and discs are complete, awaiting suspension for hard line placement.
The corners were cut off the box and grafted into a mini 22x24 box.
The tailgate was cut into 5 pieces and welded back together to be correct width for new bed. Letters NTE were removed and the subsequent letter N was modified into a letter R. the result was IRRATIONAL [;)[cl[S

thank you

I am glad you like my vivid imagination. If I stare at things long enough they tend to get modified or improved.
I am on low budget mode now or I would be feverishly working on the new frame.
I really cannot finish the bed bottom, cab floor or front suspension design without a finished frame. the rear frame will likely need to be notched into the rear of the cab and also into the bed due to the cab being set back so far. I want to do airbags and will need very low mounts to do so.
Next step will likely tidy up the cab sheetmetal and roof buttcrack[;)

'cause of you

Rich - This all started with you selling those damn huge meaty back tires. :p$1200 in narrowed rearend, wheel adapters, pumpkin with spool, bearings and brakes later - its starting to look like a plan.
The tailgate actually came together quite quickly.[;)
The recessed and frenched tail light bezels were a nightmare. The curve on the chrome was too oblique to fit roof and ended up pointing spears upward about 2 inches in front when tight. The original bezels were already cut and welded into the roof when I found this out (DOH).
I decided to French cut the roof around the driver side spear and was going to recess it enough to make it match roof line. worst decision ever made! now I have about a bowling pin sized patch to weld in that side....
I realized that sliding them forward about an inch raised the back to a good spot for the curve on the roof. Ignoring the cluster F#$% to my left, I started making a curved lower patch for the existing bezels. It worked....

Yea I remember thinking, god I hope these fit in his car as well as they did in mine... His back seat was just a little wider than mine was, but yea we had the seats moved up to fit those beasts!
