Okay this one may only be cool to me but I'll share with some commentary.
The fellow in the back, second from left with his hands behind his back is my dad's cousin "Woody" aka Woodrow Wilson Skirvin. My dad talks about him and his scooters often so I decided to look for one for us to restore. To my surprise, I found the below picture and article on the internet. Cousin Woody designed, manufactured, and marketed the Cycle-Scoot. I won't bore you fellas with the details but if you are interested check out the links:
A couple of facts not in the articles are that he died fairly young in his forties due to an appendicitis and his hands are behind his back in the photo probably because he was missing most of his fingers as they were blown off by dynamite when he was young.
Note: That's Indy great Wilbur Shaw on the scooter. I'm still looking for one of these.
That was the "time capsule" car, a big hoopla when they opened it, only to find it was full of water. I think they even had Boyd Coddinton on hand for the big letdown.....
It was brand new when put in for 50 years - good thing the guy who designed the tomb wasn't around to get his butt kicked for that one
