Finished up the back half of the floor and put some rust converter on it.
Bolted up the steering box. I drilled holes in frame and welded some shouldered nuts in.
Made a frame out of 2x2 tube to mount the bed to the frame. Again welded some shouldered nuts in the frame. I still need to figure out how to support the rear half.
Got some steering shaft bearings.
I pulled the body off the frame and finished welding everything up and cleaned up the edges and stuff. Then I slopped a bunch of rust converter on the underside.
I welded some flanged nuts into the frame to mount the body and bed.
Also, now that I changed the upper shock mount the bed floor will be all flush.
Got the frame stripped and finished all the welds. Nope got 2 brackets and 2 gussets to go maybe.
Got a question. Should I add an X frame brace in the rear of the frame behind the transmission crossmember.
I just want to comment on how you are sticking to business. This project is moving along quickly.
With your experience you don't need advice. Like OI says, if you have some material laying around, a little extra bracing will only help.
I ran out of brake line so I mounted the radiator and grille shell. I will need to make some sort of grille for the shell to hide stuff. I will and paint the radiator black.
Found 2 hoses in the stash that fit!! I love it when that happens.
I had to put the engine and transmission back in to check for clearances between the master and the transmission. Everything is pretty close.
