Happy to see you back.
The motor is looking good.
As far as brake lines, Dodge just used line clamps that had self tapping screws screwed into the frame about every 2' or so. The concept was they didn't want them bouncing around in mid air, free of any restraints. If the screw on clamps were good enough for Dodge, they are good enough for me. I generally don't like channels that can hold the lines in a pile of muck, but then detail oriented I'm not, I build drivers.
When I built my 39 several years ago, I bought a brand new 46RE Chrysler transmission that had been sitting on the guy's shelf for more then 10 years. i was concerned about its condition as well. I was told, by several different transmission shops, that as long as the transmission was kept dry, and was still sealed, it would be good. I never had any problems with it, and the two guys after me have not had any problems with it (and the one guy burned up 3 sets of rear tires, so it wasn't babied).
Often dual quad Holley's are mounted sideways, makes it easier to pull the fuel bowls to change jets and stuff. Just be sure the carb spacing on that air cleaner has the correct spacing too.
