Both sound pretty fair sarge, they're both pretty cool in their own way. If you go for the Buford try to get him down to 1500 or so, and maybe 500 on the truck...........but I'm cheap........LOL

If that buick is straight as it looks in the pic, seems like a deal to me!!
Not sure about the truck, I'm not into the S-10 frames so it would be useless to me, but looks like a nice cab!!
I'd go for the Buick if it were me!!

BTW agree with mtrhd, low ball'em!!

Isn't selling it.....already tried that...LOL

The Bufe is a 4 door and I don't roll with 4 doors. How munch is the Poncho in the back ground?

Right now he is firm on the 1800 (at least right now) and honestly the 4dr really isn't my thing either although I always like the grillwork.......found a 50 Chevy 2dr on CL that the guy wants 1800....looks as good as the buick in the pic's.... All of a sudden this stuff is popping up all over Michigan....2 months ago there was nothing.....the buick is in Holland Mi......about 4hrs.....the chevy is in Waterford....about 1.5hrs...think I'll check on the chevy...[P

thanks....I think you are right....

The Chevy will always be worth more, especially if it's a 2 door. I'd pass on the Buford at that price, especially if you have to go get it...

Says the chevy runs good,?? Interior is in need of "cleaning" not sure what that meant...he says it's dirty but all there??...lol.. says has all the original parts, front bumper is off as is some trim....with exception of the wheels and tires....says glass is good but has some bubbles and yellowing in edges of some.. I'll take cash and my trailer with me and see what I can get him down too...sounds like he is willing to come down since he put in "OBO"... .[P more than the Buford owner....firm in the add and firm on the phone....

If it's the stock engine you're stuck with a 216 babbit-pounder, but you might get lucky if someone has swapped in a full-pressure oiling 235. It happened a lot over the years to replace the junky 216's...

I like the rarity of the buick, would definately be easier to do the cheby!!
Nothing wrong with moredoors if done right!

As far as things popping up, tis the season!!:D

Yeah....things are tight around MI for sure....

Yeah, I hate to take advantage of another man's misfortune but...better me than someone else...lol..I liked the idea of the ford cab but not the S10 frame thing....easy but not what I'd want...problem is I don't have anything lying around for a typical 30's style rat rod build other than the 364 nailhead motor... I do have a 51 chevy pickup straight axle but I was hoping to use it on a gasser build someday...(when I grow up).lol

I'm hoping the same, that somebody dropped a 235 in it....it's a 6 banger per the add....but thanks for reminding me.... guy I know has a 235 lying around in his pole barn....maybe I can coerce him into letting me have it....I'm sure I have something to "trade". that he might need or want....

See!!! That is why I'm here.....

That 50 chevy would make a killer gasser!! Nailhead power, sounds like a winner!!

As I was writing that last post, I thought...why not a 50 chev gasser...the nailhead thing I wasn't thinking but it sounds like a winner....going out there on Sat to inspect, offer and hopefully, tow away that chevy.....thanks for the nailhead idea...that would be "killer"... [cl

There is alot of stuff coming up for sale right now. I don't think of it as taking advantage. You are probably helping them pay the bills.

As far as the prices, a little high for around here, I think. The thing is, as much stuff as there is coming up right now, I say hold out for the one you really want. The only ones I buy that I don't think I would ever build, are just too cheap to pass up. Then they become trading material.

That is some good advise from Bonehead, if the Cheby Gasser is your dream ride............then I'm glad that you came to your senses Sarge, and started reading the words that you was writing...LOL

That nailhead is like the holy grail of ratrod motorvation, and I'm a Ford guy !
When I was real young (like 3) my dad put a flattie into a '52 Cheb.

Well........didn't work out....

Got there and the car was not nearly as good as it appeared in the photos....the floorboards were totally gone, the engine supposedly ran but wouldn't start....did crank over (very slowly) ....had no door glass for it at all and the windshields had been removed and broken....guy wanted 1800 and was unwilling to go lower...honestly the car wasn't worth 500...I offered him 800 but he said I was insulting him[S....had I heard the thing run, maybe 1000 bucks but even with a full battery it barely turned over..... so, I traveled with the trailer for nothing but since I had to go out of town anyway, I just made the trip with the trailer and kept my eye out for something else...kept off the interstate and drove the back roads..... saw some cool stuff but nothing that was "for sale"....so, the wife and i had a nice overnight then visited with the daughter and drove back home....empty trailer..:(

Sounds like you made lemonade out of lemons, good for you, sorry about the car, I'm sure something will come along. I'm looking forward to Mt Clemens swap meet, you never know, you might find something there. :D

Sarge, sounds to me like you need to keep you're eyes open for a nice GASSER project!!
It wasn't meant to be, the right thing will come along, I'm a firm believer in that!!
