What Earthman said, Excellent!

It's like having a new baby only better cuz you get to change oil, not diapers.

i am still breaking it in. going for drives at various speeds and not staying at any one for long.
unsuprisingly i did just find out that it is very easy to pass cars quickly on the freeway with a 75mph speed limit.
my antique speedo only goes to 80 so i have no idea how fast i was going.
i wasnt hammering it at all... [cl

Billy, reason I asked if it was a roller cam motor is that if it isn't you need to break the cam in differently than you are doing it. With a flat tappet cam you need to bring the rpms up to 2000-2500 and keep it there for about a half hour, and also have some cam lubricant in the oil . If it is a roller cam motor you don't have to worry about that.

Just thought I would mention it to you in case you didn't know, so you don't wipe out your cam.

Plus... I have been using Valvoline Racing Oil on flat tappet motors because it has zinc added to protect those cams better than the new oils that the Feds have reduced or eliminated zinc in. Actually costs the same as regular oil but shop around for it. Some parts houses don't have it on the shelf but keep it in the back.
